An OrphanA Poem by GEETIKA GARGAn orphan's saga.I peep out
through the crevices of the door To the
bright day outside Sun smiling
elegantly. Inside i
reside Trapped in
dark Alone Fearsome of
the outside world I lay
scandalized My existence
at stake I am crushed My voice
pressed For i m a
loner An orphan I stand at
the window Watching the
rainfall As if sky
descending Luring me to
dance The whirling
of the leaves Remind me of
god’s existence But i still
lay frozen, Immobile,
heartless For this is
the way my life is! I stare at
the populace outside Unlike me,
my desiccated spirit They seem aliens,
strangers. As the day
sets Leaving me
in twilight dew I pray my
spirit be freed The captive
spill of evil The
darkness, decadence. Dear god Let your lap
be my home And your
words the light! © 2013 GEETIKA GARGReviews
