Court is Now in Session

Court is Now in Session

A Poem by Taji Herbert

In the court room of life the jury of your peers is usually incompetent
Misinformed & delusional
They strike nothing from the record
Making even doubts evidence
They object to things with meaning
And nod in agreement with anecdotes
They foresee the answers before the know the whole question
They are the final word in a meaningless argument
The verdict is reached only by quid pro quo
Or rashness in the lacking of such
They are the end of the future
Because they see nothing beyond themselves
So I wait for the gavel to fall
Hoping that it is in the favor of reason
And not bandwagon trains of thought
All rise for the honorable judge REALITY.

Very unique. Don't think I've read anything quite like it. Really gets the reader thinking I liked it very much.
