October moon

October moon

A Poem by MisguidedGhost

They met on a starry night

She never knew what was to come

The way she loved him was more than she could ever imagine

It made her cry

Tears of happiness that she finally found him

She realized that perfection really does exist

And he lived up to every expectation she's ever had

The love she felt was not only of mind but of body

They were connected as one

Two jagged puzzle pieces finally fit together

It made her smile on a cool fall night

Those nights of oversized sweaters and laughing over pointless TV

She knew she couldn't lose him

Without him she was just that jagged puzzle piece

And no one would quite fit as well as he did

It's hard to say what he compared to

That smile you get when you're just happy for no reason

Those butterflies that no amount of sleep can fix

Being thankful just to have them

A sip of warm tea on a cold day

And the pointless linguring of your favorite perfume

Little things that keep a big place in your heart

She was vulenerable because her heart was missing

It was his now

And only he could give it back
