Than A Boy Like You

Than A Boy Like You

A Poem by Heather

I deleted every song that reminded me of you

And put away all of your pictures

In the box of a shoe

Every memory was washed away

With shots of that dark colored goose

And puffs of a tree wrapped up loose

There was nothing stopping me

From getting you out of my head

I was determined to get over you

It was the first thing I said I’d do

And as I drive through the streets

With leaves covering the ground

Is when I look over to the passenger seat

And realize, you’re finally no longer around

And that is when I start to miss you

After all the anger had passed through

But I will never go back

I’ll chase the Jack Daniels

And flip through the channels

Find something else to do

I’d rather be with any other man

Then a boy like you.
