What We Can Not Change

What We Can Not Change

A Poem by Heather

His words are a mystery

unable to tell what will come next

while our conversation still lingers on my lips

and always has the same results;

unable to describe exactly what he means

when its written out right in front of me

and i'm getting lost in his sentences.

my disagreements wilt to agreements

and i find myself smilying at everything he does

he is so close and yet,

is miles and miles away

i end up falling to pieces

but he doesn't notice

i find myself losing a game i was never playing

i offered it all without even offering

and lost it all at the same moment

leaving with nothing

though i came empty handed.

I don't understand how you don't like your writing! o_0!! I really enjoy this piece, you express the message very well. Your last stanza really stuck to me, isn't it interesting how we lose at things we never did, or feel lost when we never were lost. This is very good, you need to keep writing!!! Good job!
