Dear Ry

Dear Ry

A Poem by Heartfelt

Dear Ry

Dear Ry, almost three months have passed,

Yet the days feel like the last.

Wanting you back in this world,

a feeling that never gets old.

As I sit and wait for your new hellos,

From you I see nothing, that’s how it goes.

I check my messages for old time sake

As if it will help ease this grieving heartache.

I miss your smile, your infectious laughter

The conversations about ever afters.

I miss our friendship, our exchange of advice;

The roles we upheld to sustain our lives.

Our lives are no longer at parallel directions,

If only nature had different intentions.

Your spirit lives on, although your body is gone.

In my stories of you, it will forever live on.

I will carry your story, as I continue my journey.

I will tell the world about your courage and bravery.

You are a hero! That’s how you’re remembered,

A gracious knight that never surrendered.

So if you look down, and you see my tears,

Just use the sun to smile, and the wind to whisper

Say that you're watching over me, stay strong,

Because we’ll see each other soon, it won’t be long.

A heartfelt poem, missing a friend. When we lose someone we love, there is a feeling of emptiness as we remember the joy and connection that friendship brought to our lives. I like the idea of bringing in the sun and wind to remind you of this lost love, bravo jude
