Emotionally Overwhelmed

Emotionally Overwhelmed

A Poem by Heartfelt

Emotionally Overwhelmed

To be me

Is never a we

Walking on thin ice

While judgmental eyes

Awaits for my fall

Ready to call

Emotional explosion,

Or perhaps an implosion.

Standing alone

Like I’m being stoned

For so many reasons

Like the four seasons.

It seems endless

Feeling oppressed

By a world

That always scolds.

Pushing my limits

Not giving me merit

Pulling my strings

As if I’ll cling,

To their ideas

Filled with biases.

Being vulnerable

Is almost unbearable.

Watching the years

It is almost clear.

A tormented soul

That always crawls

And lurks in my darkness

Blocking the greatness,

Not wanting to shine

Polluting my mind.

Emotionally paranoid

Of an empty void

Losing my confidence

In a logical sense.

Waiting for healing

Or spiritual awakening

An embrace of peace

To silent the beast.

Finding the light

To aid my fight

And raise my will

For some tranquil,

And peace of mind

To draw the line

Between illusion

And confusion.
