Struggles of Motherhood

Struggles of Motherhood

A Poem by Heartfelt
"

This is a poem that I wrote as a result of my frustrations in raising teenagers. I've realized that the adolescent years is the most challenging and difficult years.

"

Struggles of Motherhood

If it were me,

How would it be?

A creative path?

One that will last?

Perhaps in my mind

There is but one vine

That connects me to you

And what we have to do.

If you can only see

What you can be.

You can use your dreams

To get a gleam

Of a future that’s bright.

Where you’re the light

To illuminate

A glorious fate.

Young at heart

Naïve from the start.

Mindless of the future

Perhaps it’s a good nature?

Who knows what will be?

Why can’t I wait and see?

Because you are my love

A beautiful gift from above.

I don’t want you to cry,

But I want you to fly.

Why can’t you see?

That it’s not for me?

Please understand

I only hold your hand

And stay at your side

Because I am your guide

I love creative and expressive writing. For me it's a tool for maintaining sanity. Writing helps me express the feelings that otherwise drowns me, and leaves me feeling lighter. more..
