A Bird Upon the Wind.

A Bird Upon the Wind.

A Poem by Tiarra Templeton
"

Feeling free.

"

I'm as free as a bird flying high over trees

Might've broken my wing, but I still do believe

That up over your world is where I now belong

No more landing by your window to hear your sad songs

The fall air is crisp, feels clean under my wings

And the warm, autumn leaves make me don't miss a thing

It's funny, I find, what mistakes will bring

With dirt comes brilliant diamonds, and gold minds fit for a king

What's done has been done with no guilt and desire

You had changed with the seasons, and our nest lit on fire

But not flying away was my fault, I should've known what'd transpire

I guess that's what I get for having faith in a liar

Above all, though, I do hope that you end up okay

I would've built you a nest on the dock of the bay

Sometimes your heart wins, sometimes you might stay,

But this time migration let my mind lead the way .
