A Poem by Tiarra Templeton
"

I guess this poem is about change. The loss of a good friendship/relationship that I previously had. Realizing you've given way too much for someone who didn't deserve it. It's old.

"
Two simple promises held us both together
We chased away fear with the warm summer weather
Unable to change, but too hard to let go
Sometimes the things left unsaid are what makes us grow
The trees grew their out leaves and we grew apart
You played out your life on the strings of my heart
Time went by slow, but our lives went by fast
So suddenly the present turned into the past
There were words etched in stone and sealed with our lips
But they got lost at sea and hit it's floor's sunken ships
You forgot how to talk and I forgot how to smile
We were found guilty without a right to fair trial
I still made my wishes and found none had come true
Staring through broken glass of a bright icy blue
The summer sun made a cure for a cold winter ache
Counting one thousand stars and watching our promises break
When the time came we spoke, but we were so out of tune
I was falling through hell while you were roping the moon
For you I tried to smile, but I had still forgotten how
And we're left with nothing but two broken promises now.
