Footprints

Footprints

A Poem by Dhaye
"

Washed away

"
I. (Yesterday)

I was here crying
Wanting to kiss your footprints
Washed by the sea waves

II. (Today)

I'm back to this shore
To trace your footprints once more
But they're gone away

This is truly beautiful. I love the way you used "yesterday" which could be just a day or many years. It feels like memories...sometimes painful, and then, time heals and erases even the memory of why.

Work that lingers, good poetess!
