OF BEING A HUMAN

OF BEING A HUMAN

A Poem by Dhaye
"

can we?

"

It is not in the color of your skin
nor the fame of your race
It is not in the sweetness of your smile
nor in the beauty of your face

It is not in the count of your assets
nor the size of your room
It is not in the name of your place
where pretty flowers bloom

It is not in the shape of your body
nor the shade of your eyes
It is not in the beauty of your words
  that the true love lies

For being a human is being true
of what you do or say
Being humane is having empathy
to those who are astray

Be a human, just be true
learn to love and care
Be that human who understands
always be just and fair.

being true, just and fair - it shows how compassion works both ways either to you or to others.... I really the message you give here pretty friend, the last time I've read this it holds the impact on how we humans forget the goodness of our heart or who we really, more often society dictates our bad choice, then we lose ourselves in the process... very moving piece, pretty friend, well done!

Thank you. It is a gift if you have compassion because that means you have a bigger heart.

True lines. The lines permit me to writing that the love's only in 'Humanity'. Humanity belongs to humans, but the thread of love's betrayed by 'em so, to look around the world with love, one must have to follow the league of humanitarian-life. Nice flow of ink.

You are welcome...:)......
Look past those furtive grins superfluous winks and into the heart to find the real person !

A superbly penned, worldly wise and compassionate poetic write, high quality indeed Dhaye !

Thank you so much for the kind words, Tom.
You are very wise, Dh....it matters little what the outward appearance of a person looks like. The way he or she acts proves what is in his or her heart. To treat all people fairly and accept all people......the world would be a much sweeter place if more people actually lived life this way. Good rhyming and wonderful message in this one. Lydi**

My pleasure hon.
.
We are all the same regardless of the color of our skin, the shape of our face...and that being human we have must all have the sense of sensibility...very well said, Dhaye.

It is a pleasure to spend a rainy night on here with this poem.

Thank you, Belle.
It's well done, you let me learn it by heart. It's true you write each word by your feelings and your heart. Thank you for this wonderful poem.

Thanks a lot for reading and for the compliment.
I loved everything about this piece.
Apart from the music while it is a good sweet little tune, its distracting when im trying to read.
Anyhow, the storyline was brilliant and so true.
The rhyming was at its best, comes naturally, and made the poem sound even better.
I honestly just loved the whole thing, You describe what it means to be a decent human being very well.

Anytime :)
Every word you have written in this poem is so very, very true. It matters not the colour, creed or religion; they are irrelevant inventions of man that all too often overshadow the fact that we are all brothers and sisters under the skin.

A moving write and the music that accompanies is perfect for the theme.

Beccy.
