To The Moon

To The Moon

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Moonlight...shining bright

"

To the moon...

That witnesses my tears on gloomy nights
And hears my cries on hopeless fights
When it feels my weak and shivering arms
When it sees my fears from possible harms

To the moon...

That makes me see in the midst of the dark
And shines on me and leaves a mark
When it gives me strength and helps me stand
Like I'm not alone in this cruel land

To the moon...

I thank you so much for the light you give
It means so much, like a gift I receive
Your shining beams that make the world to see
The courage, the strength, and the beauty in me!

The moon is very symbolic of the rhythm of our lives. It lights up both our dark as well as happy times. You highlighted this amazingly here.

What a beautiful, lifting write... how you make your confessions to the moon.... the pain expressed over time... the joy of finding peace... the light that breaks the darkness of your world... and within you! :)

Thanks, Craig.
It's the most beautiful poem I've read on here. These lines are just wonderful:

' To the moon...

That makes me see in the midst of the dark
And shines on me and leaves a mark
When it gives me strength and helps me stand
Like I'm not alone in this cruel land '

Like a ray of moonlight is reflected on the sea, your poem is a reflection of my life.

Thank you for writing it.

A romantic ode for the celestial body too many take for granted. It is there for us no matter what our mood, no matter what the world is going through. It's light can be such a comfort. Your poetry is so honest, Dh.....and it is a pleasure to read. Lydi**
