ironies

Today, I will tell you some of these lies
Shout it to the world without teary eyes
Let them see my heart behind my smiles
A story that could reach a thousand miles

Today, I decided not to love you more
I want to forget you and my dream of evermore
I will turn my back so you won't see
How I laugh that you're caged when I am here free

Today, I will clap my hands with gratefulness
That you are not here and you're there with emptiness
I shall wear my prettiest dress that I have
Celebrate with the storm which I always love

Today, I won't cry because of you, my dear
I am not the same woman before, is it clear?
I will stand with honor that you and I were through
In this life of mine, I'm happy there's no 'you'.

Today, I hope you can read what's on my heart
I want to paint our story with the saddest part
But know that all of these are just those ironies
They are all but lies, my LOVE will NEVER CEASE.

It's true, no matter how much we try to fool ourselves into believing we are better off without someone we once loved, the warm feelings are still alive and the truth is still there.....love never dies. Your words are written in perfect rhythm and rhyme. I enjoyed this one very much.....we really can not fool ourselves, can we? Lydi**

Such a great idea! I love the ironical sound of it but yet with a real message:)

A fine romantic, satirical, almost whimsical tale of devoted love and the irony is certainly not lost on the reader or indeed I hope, the subject of the poem!

Serenely, dreamingly supreme !!
