Inspired by a conversation with a friend. A poem in Ghazal form.
In my dreams I saw us in another lifetime
Only you and I, yes, in another lifetime
In this chaotic world where pain is my blanket
I would just sleep and dream of another lifetime I have loved you through times that
roads were very rough
And I kept our picture for another lifetime
If we were not given the chance to love and care
Maybe it would be real in another lifetime
So I will stay with hope that soon it
will come true
This poem was inspired by the song IN ANOTHER LIFETIME. It is a poem written in Ghazal form. Ghazal is a poetic form consisting of rhyming couplets and a refrain, with each line sharing the same meter. A Ghazal may be understood as a poetic expression of both the pain of loss or separation and the beauty of love in spite of that pain.

In our lifetime, we may find that one great love but sometimes cruel reality works to separate us from them. We do not have any other recourse but to hope and wish that in another lifetime we will be with them forever. Bittersweet piece..
Filled with hope and bittersweet thoughts for the future. If it does not work out now, perhaps in some other galaxy. Such a dreamy thought, Dh! The imagery is lacy and lovely. Lydi**
"If we were not given the chance to love and care

Beautiful and hopeful words. I thought real love could be forever once. One of the myth and hope of youth. Forever and a lifetime can be what we hold on tightly to in heart and mind. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Wow, that was lovely, and the music seemed perfect with your poem. It flowed like a song, but I did find one small thing: " I have loved you through times that roads are very rough" is mixed tense, I think. Shouldn't it read "I have loved you through times that roads WERE very rough"?
Another beautiful poem, you certainly know how to craft them!

I love your repetition of 'another lifetime'....and I love the "...pain is my blanket---I would just sleep and dream of another lifetime." Beautiful, poignant, absolutely lovely. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem.
