CODES (Espinela)

CODES (Espinela)

A Chapter by Dhaye
"

My first attempt to Espinela form

"

Codes help me where I have to lead
And then to end my every thought
Light in my mind which I have sought

But I’ve been a slave of my creed

A driven heart that I must feed
Let my being drowned in his care
Like a soft scarf that I must wear
His words could mend, I must admit

But codes are strong, I would submit

Unless my love could take me there...

*The Espinela is a poem of 10 lines, with 8 syllables in each line. The rhyme scheme is abba accddc - and there is a break or pause after the 4th line, as illustrated. No set meter required, just the 8 syllables.

I see your creative mind is trying new things, going towards new horizons which is wonderful.
"feed my being with love and care
Like a soft scarf that I must wear"

Now that is some good poetry...:).......................
