OIL AND WATER (Rhyme)

OIL AND WATER (Rhyme)

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

we are

"

Look at us my darling like the oil and water
We cannot be one, we can't be together
We have tried our best to be with each other
Hoping for a love that will last forever

You are the oil and I am the water
How I tried to embrace you with this love, oh my dear
I did my best to be on your side, I swear
But you didn't reciprocate my love, you never

You fell at the first fence but I taught you how to hold
I gave you my clothes so you won't feel cold
But as we tried to fuse, more secrets were untold
When will you be forward, when will you be that bold?

I tried to comfort you with my lovable song
But you shouted in disgust like what I did was wrong
When the night was cold that's when we get along
But the days always say, in your world I don't belong

How long will you hurt me with so much apathy?
You were the one who turned your back, can't you see?
And still I was calling your name to look at me
But you played like a deaf, how you wanted to be free

Look at us my darling like the oil and water
We cannot be one, we can't be together
Though we hoped  for a love that will last forever
You are still the oil and I am the water...

Values, culture, priorities, religion and interests are the things that make us incompatible with another. But we could still work on our differences. After all, even the water and oil could blend together by adding some other element (vinegar). in short, kailangan may asim pala. hehehe

Thanks a lot, Gab.
Deep and darkly colored with regrets, shame when two people don't mesh, sometimes these differences are what seems alluring at first glance, then we find out, we're too different to make it last. Nicely pen'd Dhaye, going into my favorites toot sweet!

OIL AND WATER~
This is good concept, we all know that in reality they don’t really mix in harmony. They are both liquid yet they don’t mix because of their properties. Here is a little trivia I know: Oil is thicker than Water, while Water is more dense than Oil.

Relationship is also like oil and water, most of the time both are completely the opposite on the other. For some cases that what makes any relationship grow better. Though they don’t mixed well, but accepting the imperfection making it perfect in your perception is a good way built a good relationship.

But the poems intent is a different case. Perhaps because it is a one-sided love affair like what the persona of the poem said: “But you didn't reciprocate my love, you never”

Even though love is giving. But in a relationship, it is give and take, even just the little appreciate will do. Love takes effort but if the love you showed was never appreciated, sometimes the heart grows tired then it becomes not worthy to fight for.

Love is also a two way relationship. Your give your love and be loved back.

“You are still the oil and I am the water...”

If it is meant to be, there will always be a way, but if it is not, free your heart first to see beyond the prison you created.

Great piece.. I like it!

Cheers, baby brother! Being cheerful makes someone look younger. So, always smile!!!
The funny thing bout love is that it is imperfect despite its mystery and power. It can make you cry when you are happy, strong in moments of weakness…. but it can also be fickle, mainly cause it is tainted by human emotions. Very nicely written piece.

No problem… always a pleasure.
Stunning write, the words, fluidity and gripping, imagery one can (most) relate too

my favorite stanzas:

How long will you hurt me with so much apathy?
You were the one who turned your back, can't you see?
And still I was calling your name to look at me
But you played like a deaf, how you wanted to be free

Look at us my darling like the oil and water
We cannot be one, we can't be together
Though we hoped for a love that will last forever
You are still the oil and I am the water...

brilliant choice of words..speaking of eloquent profoundness...
thanks for sharing :)

You're very welcome, Dhaye, this was a pleasure to read! yes, i'm here, 'fraid so :)
Wow this is very intense . The picture vividly highlighted it all . Some suggestion . When will you step forward or move forward is superior than When you will be forward. Unless you meant straightforward . honest frank or open . This is very well written piece . Maybe even when you sleep you can still write poems .Have you tried coconut oil ? Maybe it will mix well with water . Just add a tablespoon of vinegar . They'll fuse and get along . Very nice portrayal here of two different and " incompatible " thing . Pero sabi nila . Opposite attracts so there's hope ... That's all ...
