HERE IN MY HEART (Zejel)

I'll keep your name

You are the song, I’ll  always sing,

You give the notes, what joy they bring

I hope we’ll never be apart

 

You are the paint on my canvass

With you I see no hidden  glass

And now the rain has stopped at last!

I wish, my love you’ll not depart.

 

You are the gem I want to keep

With you I feel I wouldn’t weep

My love for you goes strong and deep

I know, my love, we’ll do our part.

 

You are the apple of my eye

You are my one, don’t say goodbye

With you my heart will never die

Your name I’ll  keep here in  my heart.

*Zejel - a humorous poem, usually 8 syllables per line, but this can vary. First verse is 2 or 3 rhyming lines and following verses are 3 rhyming lines and then another line that rhymes with the last line of the first verse.
