I ONLY WANT (Free Verse)

Thanks to Chris for some help in making this piece better.

I only want to stay as your friend
If not forever
Then for a lifetime.

I only want to feel that it's you
Who holds my hand to guide me
When I'm in the darkest part of my journey
Be my light
And my shelter
My strength to carry on
When  the road seems too rough.

I only want to hear your words
As my inspiration
For the courage to move on
Even when I have to climb a peak
There's no doubt
Because I know you're here
(Where your words reside)
In my heart and mind.

I only want to make you feel
That I'm just here for you
To stay as your friend
Wishing the best things for you.

I only want you to be happy
So when the time comes
That you don't care anymore
I have to be ready
To accept every word
Even if it would hurt me.

All I want is the best for you
And I hope
That you can see that
Because I...
I am your true friend
No matter what.

And when the tests come along the way
I hope I could be strong enough
To hold on to that friendship.

I have loosen my grip for a moment
But I promise...

I'll just remember your words
And things will be alright.

i remember my science subject on symbiotic relationship: mutualism and parasitism. ideally, friends help each other and they benefit from each other (mutualism). if a person kept on benefiting from the other without returning the favor that in the long-run harmed the latter...i call that kind of relationship as parasitism...i hope i won't have a parasite friend. lol...

Ah, I also know that. I also remember my Biology subject in high school, the subject which is my favorite because I am free to read a pocketbook inserted in my workbook. The teacher smiles at me because she can see me reading the workbook (as it seems, the truth is I level the workbook to cover my face while I'm reading the pocketbook).LOl.

Parasite friend...LOL. Two people become friends because they really benefit from each other, either in terms of material, emotional or spiritual aspect/help.

I also wish you won't have that kind of friend. I'm confident enough to say that my friend is not a parasite type (either me), as I have mentioned in the 2nd and 3rd verses.

You and Pax are similar in some aspects...

Hold on to whatever is worth holding on to, be it a minimal of what you originally wanted but even a small piece of something is better than nothing. Friendship is the most valuable treasure in life, it makes us who we are and how we turn out to be in the future. It's a major part of life and I love this piece all about holding on to that aspect.

Ah, basta ipag-pray nyo ang students ko kukuha ng assessment next week tapos yung laban namin sa Regional Technolympics. Wala dito now ang angel ko, walang pastor na magpe-pray over sa aking wish. LOL
