Those Old Days

Those Old Days

A Chapter by Dhaye
"

were gone

"

When a song that you sing seems so hot in my ears

I turn my radio on that everybody hears

Never did I listen to the sound of your drum

It’s more of noise to me like a thunderstorm hum

And never did I glance in your full nudity

I’m afraid I could make such fleshy fantasy

Oh, my dear, those old days were gone now, I’m so free

I have learned to accept what the eyes couldn’t see

What the heart really feels, not the mind would suggest

From those finest paintings, I should look for the best

From those songs that you sing, I might find one that’s sweet

Or I might learn to play that old drum with new beat

From that vista of yours though in full nudity

Might be the finest art in this world I shall see

Oh, my dear, those old days were gone now, I am new

I have changed my outlook it’s all because of you.

To be inspired by another and find ones true self in a humble and unassuming way, is a very worthy character trait indeed !

A heartening homily !
