I REMEMBER (Couplets)

I REMEMBER (Couplets)

A Chapter by Dhaye
"

I always will

"

Oh, my darling you're no longer here
But memories of you seem present everywhere

I remember the times when you and I sing
The songs you wrote for me and the joy they bring

I remember the verses of that poem just for me
The exceptional lines, those emotions are free

I remember the scene in that painting you made
The brush and  the canvass, the colors which don't fade

Ah, my darling you're not here anymore
But our beautiful story will be forevermore

I will sing the high notes of our favorite song
That would make me feel calm, that would make me strong

I will tell them the verses of our favorite poem
That would echo in their hearts and make them feel at home

I will paint the picture of that beautiful sea
The tide and the ship, and what they mean to me

Ah, my darling you can't be mine forever
But such beautiful story, I will always remember.

I was almost on the verge of tears while reading this, Ate. Seems like I'm reading my heart's mind... The message is...hmm...I want to curl up in bed and soak my pillow with tears as I wallow in "our" memories. Sigh.

Thanks, nibhz.
I see this as a tribute to a relationship could be friendship or romantic. We may not be able to see those special individuals anymore but the beautiful memories would remain in our heart. As i've said in most of my reviews, rhyme in a poetry is something that i admire because i find it hard pen something with smooth rhyme and rhythm. In this case, your rhyme scheme is admirable. However, i am not quite sure on the last couplet. i read it loud and it seems that "here" and "remember" do not "jive". But this is just me. Other than that, this piece is wonderfully-penned, dhaye. =)
