GUIDE ME

GUIDE ME

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

on the things I don't know

"

I don't know how to read
Through the depths of one's soul
I don't know how to hear
A veritable call.

I don't know how to catch
When somebody throws a thing
I don't know how to show
All my sincerest feelings.

I don't know how to refuse
When a good friend would ask
I don't know how to prove
Why I keep my trust.

I don't know how I fall
Though it's a silly thing
I don't know but I want
To sing and dance in the rain.

Oh, dear Lord I don't know
Why I'm so weak and frail
I ask Your guiding hands
Be the light to my way.

This is such an innocent and gentle poem. Your delicate words almost sing off the page. Sometimes we know we can not be the ones to walk through this life with all the harshness out there... we are frail and can not see the entire picture. Or the depths and nature of a soul...the ones to trust and those to avoid. But there is always the one who does know all this. To give Him all of us and let Him guide us like a cotton seed in the wind...well that is the best feeling, knowing we are completely taken care of and loved...never to be guided wrong. Gorgeous write, Dhaye... needed to read this today... thank you for sharing your beautiful heart here.

Thanks for dropping by, Kalypso.
Excellent line of thinking here… do any of us truly know… we often do things and act certain ways that are even a mystery to ourselves…. that is why we can't always expect other to understand us.

Thanks, Eddie. It's not about what I KNOW...it's about what I FEEL.
Seems this is a self-expression...
of understanding and finding guidance...
in the way the structure is form...
as if a prayer of sort...

Last two lines Hear My Mind . Sounds better if penned this way
" I ask Your guiding hands and be the light to my way "

That's the (sometimes) hidden beauty of life; we feel we need to know everything, be in control at all times, appear always strong. No, God made us to connect and need, to help and help heal, to be weak at certain things so another could be our strength, while strong in other areas so we may be a weaker person's strength to draw from. You ask the Lord to guide you, and He will...sometimes Himself, sometimes through friends or strangers.
A humbling piece of writing...and another hidden beauty from Dhaye!

Thank you

I read more of you than you know. I don't or can't always comment.

You draw the reader in with all the attractions of everyday activities and then take us to a more sympathetic place of physical despair and a plead to God, I felt moved, very good indeed.
