Poem 51. Homo Duplex: Two Poems About DualityA Chapter by DhayeInspired by Pax's review comment on my piece I SHOWED MY FACE and his poem DUALITY.
The War
Yin-
yang Black-white. Our nature Has this opposition One against the other Soul VS Body Egoist VS Reasonable. We are contradictory beings We need our spirituality To bind them Or if we can’t At least make them coexist Peacefully To avoid war within Ourselves.
Duality
Oh, why I feel you want to prove I’m wrong When you insist your thoughts upon me, dear? How could I stand beside you if I don’t Be certain of your creed, I want it clear.
Oh yes, each one of us has these both sides Duality’s a nature of all men You always thought that one’s both white and black Be good and bad that everybody can.
You said it once that we’re in a facade It only shows what is good to be seen The mask we wear is great in hiding us What we’ve been through, it’s when we do pretend.
And yet I thought I could have made you smile When I showed you the best face that I have Behind the words, across the thousand miles I sent a heart, a true friend that I can.
But now I know, I’ve come to understand Like me, you have duality’s great war.
Note: I don't intend to offend anybody here. Just a product of research, belief, and rhyme scheme. LOL. Love you, friends. © 2013 DhayeAuthor's NoteFeatured Review
