WHO AM I? (Free Verse)

WHO AM I? (Free Verse)

A Chapter by Dhaye
"

Who knows?

"

Who am I?
I am just a flower quickly fading
Today I am charming
But tomorrow will be thrown away
Like those other wilting flowers.

Who am I?
I am a dust in the wind.
I'll be with you for a moment
But will leave you in a little while
With one thing I am sure of-
I won't leave you in despair
For I shall leave with reminiscence
Of our good old days.

Who am I?
I am a friend, a faithful one
Though you haven't read my mind
Or gazed at the windows
of my soul.

I am here
To do my passion
To speak my mind
To open my heart
To leave a trace
That once in my life
I've been a writer...

I really like the early stanzas. You weaved the words wonderfully with metaphors and the flow is finely smooth; that is poetry Dhaye ( I'd love to see you writing this way) The repetition of the words 'Who Am I" gave a strong sense of seeking for an answer of the reason of existence and there you ended it with your own answer...

Wow Dhaye you have so much collections of beautiful poems . You must have been writing since the day you were born. I like the way you begin your poem " who am I " ... One of the most common question ask by a soul searching for meaning and purpose in life ... " Who Am I " . Please listen to Casting Crowns when you get a chance . They composed a song with this title . And you captured some of the lyrics in this lovely poem . Very beautifully laid Ms Dhaye. You're very talented writer .

I like the above lines. We question who we are many times in our life. We will be many things in our life. I hope in the end we know some kind of happiness. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
