Poem 9. NO RETRIEVAL

Poem 9. NO RETRIEVAL

A Chapter by Dhaye

I have lost my memory about that place.

I cannot remember anything.

Good? Bad? I just can’t recall even a single word.

I wake up one day that I am numb of everything. I cannot feel neither pain nor joy. Yes, I am numb.

I believe it’s the second chance given to me.

I am now again taking my journey back into that place.

Do I have to retrieve all the memories?

A part of me is saying “Yes” but the voice that says “No”

Is louder.

Then retrieval is not essential. I have to live like a

Newborn- a new creation. Past memories must

Be gone. I have to live with my new life…

As a new individual. And with this chance, I am going to

Live differently from the past.

A dawn of reinvention, a rebirth of the spirit. Sometimes it is necessary to cast off the old memories that weigh us down, so we can go lightly forward. Well done!

Thanks, Rita. I totally agree:)
We all need that second chance. That new moment of awakening . The new embrace of ourselves and life. Grasp a new light and a new future. You have retrieved yourself in this great poem...:)
