Short Story 3. RENOVATION

           

            I was surprised by those few lines formed on my walls. Termites! My house has been attacked by termites. Perhaps I haven’t seen them these past three months since I became busy with many activities. Ah! I have to do something. These little monsters must be eradicated right now, or else my house which I’ve been working on as one of my dreams will soon become termites’ palace.

 

                I sat in front of the mirror. I saw my reflection like a blurred picture. Do I still know myself now? How long have I been sleeping? Weeks? Months?

 

                I looked sadly again at my walls. This must be finished! A simple dial in the phone and then it rang. I talked to someone who can help me solve my problem. After a few minutes, a man came and he performed his duty to eradicate those termites.

 

                But I am not happy with the result. The walls are not the same anymore. There are still some patterns of those lines and I hate to see my walls just like that!.

 

                Another decision came up-  total renovation of the house. Yes! I have to renovate this house so that I can be more comfortable. 

 

                Tomorrow, new people will come here and I know they will do their best to make my home a better world to live in.

ikaw talaga... tinanong mo ako kanina eh... sinagot ko lng... why do i know kasi nakita ko sa second stanza nagtatago yung hidden meaning ng poem diba...na kailangan mo rin mag pakasaya... to feel young again... kahit lola na yung pinapatawag mo sayo...eh... your young as you feel you are... so i think your still young..

Ay, yun ba interpretation mo? He he! Marayo gyud, Manong. I am not bothered with my age, noh? Mas gusto kong old tingin nyo sa akin para pag-uwi nyo dito, magmano kayo sabay abot ng pasalubong. Lol.
That stanza means I forgot to do things about myself because of being busy with something. Not about age...Sus. Sa school namin, age doesn't matter. Magkaka-berks lahat new and old.

Ano naman ba itong WC? This is a writing community. Wala namang age requirement ang pagiging writer, so wala namang dapat isipin. Ang totoo, di ko naman iniisip na old na ako, sinasabi ko nga lang di ba sa inyo para walang ilangan? That's it.

Yung dapat e-renovate yung thinking...dapat wala ng negative things para laging maganda ang takbo. Ang utak, parang bahay yan...dapat nililinis para di anayin. Kaya ako, puro positive na lang now. Di ba masaya?

yun rin yung ibig kong sabihin... yung pagpakasaya ka... happy thoughts kung baga... :) but you know negative thinking always creeps through parang langaw yan na basta lng sumosulput... we can never avoid which is part of human nature.... but we can always trim it down... kaya nga yung palaging nasa isip ko... always think about balance in which you stand in... there is a fine balance between what is right from what is wrong(yung tama lang, na di naman subra, na di rin kulng)... being neutral as the peaceful lake...
