Depression Battle.

Depression Battle.

A Poem by Lonnie

Depression is a battle
I know I will never
truly win.
It's always going to be
the one thing
I can't get over.
It's what not letting go,
feels like.
It's the elephant in the room.
It's everything a bad day consists of.
So no one can tell me.
I don't live my life surviving wars.
I do it every single day.
Some days,
 I survive just enough,
with more strength that I ever thought possible.
Other days,
I come out the other end
bloody,
exhausted,
and thankful I made it
to see another day.
