three years of waiting and a moment of truth
minutes to midnight in an interlude
hands are shaking commanding heart to hush
with a diamond gem, and an impending rush

given a second to take a deep breath
your knees were knocking, and you suddenly knelt
scared yet devoted you pulled out a ring
in a snap of a finger, in your arms i cling

three years of waiting, not a moment to doubt
minutes to midnight, a lifetime to love
hands are shaking wearing the ring
to be his forever it's a wonderful thing!
