Dried OutA Poem by bethtomFree verse
The river will continue to flow through my veins,
Or so I thought. Turns out the brook had run dry
That even the rain causes more drought. Burble...burble... I used to hear Loudly emerging from the depths. Moist riverbed hasn't been in sight Since the arid one athirst for relief. Red crescent moon shimmering in the water, Where have you gone? Can you paddle back home now? © 2019 bethtom |
