Mother, Mother

Mother, Mother

A Poem by Hollywood

Mother, Mother,

why do you act like you don't want me?

You have acted this way

since the day

you claim my father forced himself

upon you.

Mother, Mother,

why do you favor you're other children more?

You have acted this way

since the day

you had other daughters

with fairer hair.

Mother, Mother,

why don't you like me?

You have acted this way

since the day

I made your life a living hell.

Aren't you suppose to forgive?

oooh wow this would have been a hard life to live. Always being second best and a reminder of such pain. How could this not be an affect on someones life? Great thoughts brought to light.

One thing that bothers me is that you used you're instead of your. But I'm sure it was just a typo. I can relate to this. I'm not very shy about the poetry I share, but the poem I wrote about my mother is one that I won't post.

i can relate so much to this, and im sure many others as well. it shows how difficult it is to live with a gap between a child and their mother. great write :)

The emotive situation you describe here so well, is powerful and difficult to take on board. It reads like someone longing for maternal approval but suspecting they won't get it. Tough stuff really well written - well done indeed.
