Cookie Cutter

Cookie Cutter

A Poem by Hollywood
"

A Philosophical poem, here's to you Plato.

"

The cookie dough is bare,

clean & vulnrable.

You press in the gingerbreadman form.
Taking out your tiny population,

you might sprinkle them

or maybe add icing.

We've slowly become particulars.
Your gingerbread men have shaped.

Some fluffy, others stretched thin.

Some tanned, others white.

Some decorated more nicely or sweeter.

The last in the tray however are undesired for society's pallet

But all made from dough, the same dough.

Cut from the same form.

Yet turned into particulars,

into themselves.

Brilliant write, with amazing philosophy. We all come from the same mould; we're all different, and yet all still human. "We've slowly become particulars." -- very true! With each generation there is more diversity than the last... but "all made from dough, the same dough."

Really enjoyed this piece.

Wow such a powerful meaning. I liked the extended metaphor between the cookie people and human. These clear, truthful descriptions are also in a short attention grabbing way. I really enjoyed this! Though I can't tell if you used any format...

Cute! It doesn't feel like a poem though...

I love the line "Taking out your tiny population," as well as "society's pallet." More wonderful wordplay like that and it would be EXCELLENT. :D

Very visual, vivid write! You create a world for us filled with variety, yet cut from such a similar form. Alike, and yet so different. Wonderfully done! Plato would be proud...

Whether it be cloth, cookies, or humans, although different in so many ways, we are all cut from the same medium aren't we?

One tasty bit of wisdom here.

Now I've always been a left over scrap kind of guy.
Probably because I'm one myself :)

Thanks for the cookie Woody.
