Forsaken BeautyA Poem by HBContest Entry: National Animal Preservation Writing Contest. March 2011On Manatees and Great Blue Whales, On simple, silent Sloths; On Tigers' lambent amber gaze, As Monarch wings aloft.
Through Sahara plains they stalk and step. On icebergs build nests of pebbles. Hidden worlds in leafy greens. Translucent life that trembles.
Respect the needs and habitats Of all these harsh survivalists. Or one by one they will dissappear, And their stunning, roaring, cunning, Beauty Sorely will be missed. © 2011 HB |
