Everything's Okay

Everything's Okay

A Poem by Heather D
"

The first poem I ever wrote

"

This feeling is strange to me, never felt it before.
Can it be real, or just the calm before the storm?
What a silly question, needless to ask,
I love him more than anything, surely we will last.
Sure we have our troubles, but really, who doesn't?
They will always be there, past, future, and present.
But our love is strong, it will weather this,
For his heart is mine, and my heart is his.
Sure we're just kids, but can you really say,
We will never make it, we'll break up someday?
Maybe it's true, maybe it's not so,
I know that I love him, more than he knows.
When I'm with him, my heart jumps and races.
It's only him I see, in a whole sea of faces.
I feel a rush in my stomach, with every single kiss,
Simply being in his arms is quiet, happy bliss.
In the freezing winter cold, his hand in mine,
I rush with inner warmth, and everything is fine.
I ride in his beat up old car, I really don't care.
As long as I'm with him, as long as he's there.
I love his rough-soft tough, as his fingers brush my face,
My head begins to swim, my heart begins to race.
I look into his eyes, so sincere and clear,
He smiles, a light kiss, and says he'll always be here.
In short I can't explain this feeling, there really is no way.
But when I'm in his arms....everything's ok.
