Dandelions

Dandelions

A Poem by Derty Steve

When these seeds touch soil

And the roots can drink

And the buds can feel sunlight

I will thrive

I will bloom into something exceptional

And spread beauty

Aiding in the manifestation of life

Not choking

And provoking decay

Like the harmful weeds

That have so long grasped at my roots

A weightless dandelion,

Catching the spring wind’s breeze

Self-sacrificially spreading its seeds

An attempt to grow life

Despite loss of its composition
