The Variances

Used another poet as a mentor for this one.

So when you nuzzled at my chest, I nuzzled yours

And chose to remember you by that mark

As if it were a memento that we shared.

I desired to be more than a memory

like your teeth sunk through the skin

And pierced the heart.

I turned into the rampant embodiment of greed

With a craving that could not be restrained or lessened
