God Bless The Us

God Bless The Us

A Chapter by J. Viands

I have sold my soul for less than this

If you’re with me lets go again

In this perfectly broken circle of anguish

Black, white, Latino, or Iraqi

Equality has come

We find it both a curse and a blessing

I don’t think it can make a difference who you are

When grandma is living in the ghetto

Mister Obama it’s time for change isn’t it

F**k it we’ll do it ourselves

It’s time for it isn’t it

To swallow another candidates bullshit

Who thought the bully in school could be our government

I was circling then for the same damn reason and didn’t even know it

It's ridicules isn’t it

Wait for the venue doors to open and see us flood from this pit

Go on screaming, tagging buildings asking for China to save us

See our disgrace drain from our pins, and the ninety nine percenters protesting in the streets

Maybe when things have to get violent

Those that can’t see now will know what they did

Maybe they will see what became of Egypt after their S.O.P.A was passed

After words maybe they will be able to speak the words God bless the us again

Edits-3rd stanza, 2nd line-ourselves.
4th line-candidate's bullshit

4th stanza, 3rd line-it's ridiculous

Last stanza, last line-afterward

I don't understand the meaning of, "see our disgrace drain from our pins..."

Your words would benefit from punctuation, letting your readers know when to pause and when a line is ending.

Your intent in this piece is well conveyed. I enjoyed reading it, thank you for sharing.
