Separation of Men

Separation of Men

A Chapter by J. Viands

What became of men?

Where did the separation began?

You see it more than me.

Still I find it sad to think,

Someone forgot we are all your children.

We dispute the son rather than the infallible above.

We said we cannot go home if we spoke wrong.

Why is it I can keep my arms open to whoever you are,

Rather than clinch my fists when we argue over your son?

I know well I fall far from your grace with no end in sight.

Why can’t anyone see the same when they condemn?

When will this schism end?

Why can’t we stop speaking lies about your name?

Never has it been wise to argue until there are no teeth left in a head.

You said give, love, and assist,

Never did you say judge before their time is up.

With a backlash to telling a story of discovering your love,

As far as I know judgment is your job.

Oh, I love this poem! So much truth in this piece. Love the lines, "Never has it been wise to argue until there are no teeth left in a head." Brilliant! "As far as I know judgement is your job." But so many have decided they are right for the job! Kudos for you on this one!

"Where did the separation began?"- typo, "begin"
"I know well I fall far from your grace with no end in sight."- check the phrasing on that one.

I think that the last two stanzas are very strong! The questioning quality of this poem works really well. The content is strong enough to carry this poem on, but if you feel like it, you may want to read it out loud to yourself again and check the flow, it was a little, eh, blocked in some parts.

Good job.

The last line is so powerful. This whole piece is powerful, like all of your other work. It all makes me think, and that's one thing I love about your writing. As always, great job.

Judgement shall always see the day through, so sad we condemn and shatter peace with divide when not needed xox
