the rain

the rain

A Poem by hayzed
"

today's rain

"
So I sit by the window
mug in my hand
watching the raindrops
tap the windowpane

Listening to
the rain's gentle cadence
as if secrets are
whispered in each drop

Today, work can wait
the world can wait
for now,
I'd be a silent witness to the rain

Perhaps the rain knows
what we forget
that sometimes
staying still is a blessing

I love the rain, so this poem. I like the way you describe your experience witnessing it. Raindrops, the whispers and the wait. All so magical. These lines were standout for me,
Today, work can wait
the world can wait
for now,
I'd be a silent witness to the rain

Appreciate your review, Hedge.
and we don't stay still often enough...I like the idea of the rain whispering reminders.
