Chapter 1 Part 2

Chapter 1 Part 2

A Chapter by braylin smith

"i'm angel"

"Riley" i reply, takeing her hand in mine. typical. The only intersting girl here and her name means messanger of god. I guess this will be quick and boring.

"May i ask; why did you come here if you didnt want guys to notice you? i mean this is a club, most girls come here to be noticed" i ask before downing another shot.

She laughs "would it seem boring if i said my friends dragged me here? i would much prefer to be some place else right now"

I smile, more predatory this time; my teeth catching what little light there is,"Well then i know a fairly decent coffee house just down the block. would you care to join me?"

She gives me a strange look, her eyes focused on my smile, and replys "um, no thanks. I can't ditch my friends so..." With that she grabs her drink and heads back into the swarm of people.

Damn. Maybe that smile showed a little too much teeth. Since that was probably the only good chance that i had on feeding on something i liked i might as well see if Audric will share. I walk to his table of girls he vacated and ask if one of them could help me find him.

A brunette in a skin tight dress(if you could call that scrap of clothing a dress) stands and offers to take me to him. i smile. she takes my hand and leads me to the hall, towards the back where Audric disappeared. i can see the vein in her neck throb in time with her heart and her scent washes over me. Not as good as Angels but it will do.

We come across Audric quickly, just as he finishes with his meal, eye's a slight purplish blue that practicly glows. The girl is slumped on the floor with a trickle of scarlet running down her neck and wrist.

My own bruenette opens her mouth to yell but my hand wraps around her neck, slams her against a wall. With her air gone she struggles to breath, to pry my hand off. Its almost beautiful; her eyes show panic and her skin has paled. The small gasps for air show desparation. I smile at her again before leaning in to catch her neck between my teeth. I bite down and her body jerks in pain. If i were nice i guess i could do this gently and let her live;but i've lived to long to be nice anymore. Besides i enjoy this.

Her blood is slightly bitter from the drinks she consumed but none the less, after 2 weeks of nothing, its like water in a desert. Most vampires make feeding go by fast; even Audric is fairly quick about it. But i like to savor mine, like to make my meal feel their strength wane as their blood is pulled from their body.

When i'm done, i drop the girl. Her body falls ungraciously next to her friend. They wont be found for a few hours at least. Audric looks to me with a smile as i gently move the bodies against each other, as if they passed out.

"so gentle after death but you feed on them like an animal," he chuckles "and why did you have to take one of mine?"

"With your looks and charm i think you'd be able to get another"

Audric has always been the trouble maker; something that draws girls to him without even trying. It helps that he's also extremly handsome with black raven like hair and, when not feeding, blue eyes. He dresses his toned 6'1 body in only the best desiners; basicly waving his money in the girls faces.

"I'm sure i could. as could you" he points out. Because im his twin, i have all the same features as him except im shorter at only 5'6 and my feminine curves make me softer and less threating then my brother. And i dont use my money to gloat and catch my next meal.

"Well we wont find out tonight. we should go before someone walks down here" i say taking his hand and pulling him toward the exit.

The cool air and sounds of the city wash over me. Athough it's a little modern for my taste, New York is the best hunting ground I've ever experianced. Just as Audric and i start to move twards his car, a hand touches my shoulder. I turn and find Angel, a grin on her face.

" I saw you leaveing and i wanted to give you this," she holds out a slip of paper with her number on it "just in case you might want to go out in the future." She puts the paper in ,my hand and turns to walk back inside. I'm watching the sway of her hips as Audric chuckles behind me.

"Of all the humans in the world, you like a boring New yorker!"

I grumble as i get in his Audi and slump against the seat. "Its not like you haven't liked a boring American before!"

This only makes him laugh harder as he starts towards home.
