About: This GirlA Poem by Hayley
No, I understand
This is an injustice You don’t comprehend. Look at me and You will see Ten billion stars Reflecting the light Of a candle On a windowsill. My friends, they laugh They try to say My name, which means nothing but Defines the girl that Occupies this fragile shell- Heart and bones, neurons And white blood cells, it’s all I am. It’s all I will never be. But they Look at me like I am a messiah, A loon, happy, simple. They don’t see That I am trying not to pack a bag And leave this place, this prison Of gossip, incest, and rape of my soul. I don’t care about them, Because they don’t care to see The real, Hayley An entity I have yet to meet. © 2011 HayleyReviews
