I whisper to my past, do I have another chance

Another chance to make this right

Another chance to be known as calm

to radiate my inner peace

Another chance to not be remembered

as the girl who lost

the girl who has anger 

that she has turned into fuel

Another chance to be happy

without needing someone to want me

without forcing others to care

Another chance to plan

a future that doesn't need

a significant other to have meaning

Another chance to be

the independent girl I was raised to be

to explore the world on my own

Another chance to be

resourceful

to use the materials the universe has offered
