Global Warming

Global Warming

A Poem by Jason A. Skilton
"

Oof. It's getting pretty hot up in here!

"
The ice is melting.
The water is warming.
The sun is fierce upon the frozen landscape.

What does this mean?
It means my dear child,
That the fields of snow,
The glaciers,
Will simply cease to be.

The caribou march further north,
wolves close behind.
The bears awaken.
The end of winter is near.

The summer heat thickens,
jackets and coats are scarce.

The eternal blaze of the sun beckons.
Snow does not exist.

No more shall snowmen or snow angels be.
No more shall there be a white Christmas Eve.
I guess winter just wasn't meant to be.

But through it all, a lesson is lear-

Timmy: "Winter was too cold anyway, old man! Stop rambling on and get me a snowcone!"
