The King's Decree

The King's Decree

A Poem by Jason A. Skilton
"

--[[ Loosely inspired by the feats of Napoleon ]]--

"
To the globe, a prophecy,
The stars have all aligned you see,
Surrender all your strength to me,
For I am the high and mighty king.
If you choose to go astray,
By dawn I'll find you cast away,
You'll fear the storm and hope and pray,
That I show mercy for the day.
Ye better run, ye better hide,
If you love your petty lives,
For I'm no saint, my subjects lied,
And by morning ye shall die.
However long it takes for me,
I do not care, I'll search for thee,
You'll never again desire to flee,
This is an oath, the King's Decree!

This is a very powerful piece. The art captures the essence of Napoleon, like your heading stated. It is short, but should not be treated less for it. This poem is a Napoleon Complex. It's narcissistic and vain, which is not a bad thing by any means. It's told by a man who thinks himself a god. Well done.

Excellent flow, like a chilled coke going down your throat on a hot sunny day. One heck of a king that was. Well penned.

Its such an amazing poem. It shows the way a king used to live his life. The problems he has to face. Tough life. Nice poem.
