Turn, Turn, Turn

Turn, Turn, Turn

A Poem by Jo Zapata
"

Separation Day from the military. Conceived as I walked upon the levee, gazing at the stars, the full moon, and the mist-blanketed river.

"

Turn, turn, turn…

Rhythmically the seasons spin,

going out to come again.

The moon waltzes ‘round,

the sun lays down,

simply just to re-begin.

The river is flowing from its center,

to ocean-end, the atmosphere re-enter.

Thus Spring rains with mirth will fall,

sending out the urgent call,

raising earth’s life from Winter.

And so, thus far, my life has evolved,

the seasons of my spirit have revolved.

Unknowing and hopeful,

then knowing and sorrowful.

To now be knowing and hopeful I resolve.
