The Mossy Rock and the Avocado SeedA Poem by Hawaiian_firesmall edit 3/22/2021We came to rest on a mossy rock old as the island itself, It was cool and smooth like a polished worn shoe. We spread our towels on and prepared for our feast ham, bologna, cheese and dijon. Everything a hiker could want and more We chatted lightly and laughed as we tossed an avocado seed. Oh, How I smiled when the thought passed through my head- It was a beautiful day much like a dream. And I couldn't help but notice how your honey skin reflected green from the canopy, your hair danced with the sunlight through the breeze- and how I could have stayed there with you on that mossy rock until that seed matured into a tree.
