_Regretfully Cannot Remember_

It was sometime ago,

almost yesterday

maybe a Saturday,

a Sunday?

I regretfully

cannot remember.

I sat on his lap,

he was a mountain

and I was a river

chasm deep.

Arms intertwined

a death lock embrace

lips suffocating

themselves

to silence.

So loud the breeze

upon the palm fronds

it echoed

on the empty

concrete city street

and the

starlight reflecting

upon puddles

became dizzying

under our feet

Flirting

with death and the

sin of undulating flesh

we hoped for what was

and never could be-

a moments rest

in a mindless bliss

an architected god

within

the concreted

dust and mesh

This was sometime ago,

almost a few years,

Maybe few days?

The only

monument left,

a hazy

surreal memory-

and a few initials

carved into a

stump of a tree

that reads something

I regretfully

cannot remember.
