Dear Christian

Why are you Christian?

Do we love Him

More than these things?

Or do we love Him

For the things He brings!

 

If He takes it all away

And sends us out saying: “Take nothing!”

Will we hold on to Him and stay?

Or will we all depart on our own way!

 

Do we love Him

For the right reasons?

Or do we love Him

In and out of Seasons!

 

If He sends us down

Into the pits and gutters

And says remain there for another

Because to Me it matters!

 

Will we follow Him to the ends of that Pit?

Even if we get nothing out of it!

Or will we follow Him as long as bread remains in our mouths

And send Him off WITH A KISS when it all runs out

 

Are we STILL Christians?

Or evolved to "X"tians!

Taking only the bread and fish

From His gracious hands

 

But when its time to follow

We tell Him we run SOLO

And replace Christ with the letter “X”

When our Faith DEMANDS a test!

 

Our missions we’ve long abandoned

Selecting only those that are profitable

Sieving through the tons of missions UNDONE!

Turn a blind eye and deaf ear, when we are called to sacrifice say IMPOSSIBLE!

 

A Christian is to be a Christ FOLLOWER!

Reflecting only the image of Christ ALL OVER!

Putting Mission FOR others FIRST no matter WHOMEVER!

TAKING UP THE CROSS to FOLLOW HIM WHEREVER!

 

NO REWARDS…NO GAIN EXCEPT CHRIST ALONE!

Will we claim the Savior as our own?

Or will WE TURN to live “THE BETTER LIFE”

And pay the consequences in the afterlife

 

Today the Savior stands and calls out to us

Hands held out…open wide!

Now will you see it as a chance to take MORE from Him?

Or a chance to follow Him and hold His hands!
