Mirrors

A Poem by M'Fun Keap
"

Love at first sight but worlds apart

"

Who are you?  Dear stranger

Staring at me through this looking glass

Beauty in this image is all I see.

Confused, I can’t help but ask

How can this be?

Tis a reflection of you

I’m sure I see.

And this reflection re-echoes

That you are me.

Riddle me this then, how can we be

Indeed, so similar?

And yet to me

You look not familiar?

Strange as it seems

We are two different beings

And yet when we share the same space

look like identical twins

You live in your world and I live in mine

So we close our eyes to this looking glass and go on to live different lives

Only to return again to renew the lies

That you and I; were never; meant to be!

Sometimes who we are on the inside, does not reflect what we see on the outside. Very good poem, thought provoking
