Moonlight WhispersA Poem by M'Fun KeapAllegorical poem on Love and Temptation. Every sentence has a deeper connotation representing people, places, things and emotionsStaring down the old alley in the silent night, The Moon stretching her arms down into my window A pen in my hand and a book on the table With pages staring back at me with eyes open in expectation
Candle flame flickers as the cool breeze strolls in through my window Startling my curtains as she runs her fingers through my hair She beckons me with her seducing whispers luring me to my bed I look out my window and your light still burns
I look to my watch as it runs on Time racing through the endless maze With stamina stronger than that of a raging bull Urging me on towards the ever distant target
Cold kisses, cold hands from the east, west and south Now caress my skin sending cold shivers down my spine I reach out to close my window and hide in disguise But it always seems I stand out somehow
The winds grow fierce and struggle with this window And I begin to sense a storm coming Clouds forming in my mind start to blur my vision I start to pray the raindrops don't drown me
I stare at the open sky and whisper into the ears of the Moon Hoping she will somehow re-echo my thoughts back home I sit at dawn writing out their names on my misty window Going over the pages of old happy memories
The candle is almost gone and the flame is dying out I have to go on now because time has left without me Leaving behind the remains of an empty pen And pages that now spell out your name... © 2015 M'Fun Keap |
