Beautiful Masterpiece

The Great Author

Just as the authors of different novels

express their thoughts in worded mastery

birth from creative genius; a storyline

knowing end from beginning

even before it is seated on paper

 

Once in a while, along the storyline, the plot thickens

stringing together moments of ecstasy or depression

A loss or some gain, be it in happiness or pain

Slowly unraveling a fantastic finale

that leaves you in breathless awe and wonder

 

Characters of the story journey from page to page

following you on an adventure questioning in silent groans

" - Explain to me your purpose; how and when will it end?"

Sometimes rhetorically questioning the writer

"-Why did you have to write it this way?"

And yet, fascinated by the unpredictable mysteries of the novel

still flip the pages in addiction with rapt attention

listening to the inner voice narrating chapter after chapter

following the path mapped in letters and alphabets

 

Wishing that through some psychic connection

The characters listen to your unspoken consolations

As they doubt the existence and sanity of the script writer

Who from the beginning had whispered through the pages

"Hang in there! Just hold on! I'm ending this story beautifully".

 

Placing bookmarks that act as beacons

Calling you to escape into a world of thrilling mysteries

Each time leaving you questioning reality and fiction

As the world within the novel draws you in

Blurring the lines that separate script from the truth

 

But if you, in aggravated frustration, spit into the face of the author

Tossing the novel before you reach its end and call it quits

Will neither see the characters reach their delightful end

nor unravel the mysteries of the big picture

revealing the lessons of the crafty writer

etched within the trance lying in the last few chapters

 

And so you see; the writer cannot be questioned

Until the end is written and the last word; read

It is only then you will yell in praise to the author

That this novel, His book or storyline

Is indeed, a beautiful masterpiece

This poem is in itself a masterpiece, expertly written. The message hidden between these words is so poignant and real, and honestly it's a message I needed to hear, as many readers will do also. Love the imagery in this. It really hits home. Beautifully done.
